On Tuesday afternoon former UFC light heavyweight champion and former PRIDE star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was arrested in Newport Beach, California following a police chase.
Jackson, who was driving a jacked-up pick-up featuring a camo paint job and a picture of himself on the side of the vehicle, struck two cars at 19th Street and Newport Blvd. After heading south on towards 17th Street an officer tried to pull Jackson over. Jackson fled and struck another car.
Jackson eventually blew a tire and continued to drive on his rim. The pursuit lasted roughly five minutes before he finally stopped.
Lieutenant Craig Fox of the Newport Beach Police Department confirmed to PDG that Jackson had in fact been arrested.
“The Costa Mesa Police Department made the arrest, Mr. Jackson was in fact arrested,” Fox said.
Fox noted that while the arrest took place in Newport Beach, the Costa Mesa Police Department was in pursuit and that the chase led to Newport Beach.
Jackson faces charges including hit-and-run, felony fleeing and evading, and reckless endangerment, among others.
A call to the Costa Mesa Police Department was not immediately returned.
