Mike Zambidis is the new SUPERKOMBAT middleweight world championThe legend of Greece Mike Zambidis is the new holder of SUPERKOMBAT world belt at middleweight division after he defeated, at the end of spectacular fight, Turkish Harun Kina in the main-event of SUPERKOMBAT VIP Edition from Bucharest. Only the previous day, in the town of Dracula, Targoviste, brothers Andrei and Bogdan Stoica brought a formidable evening, as they overcame their opponents before the stop at SUPERKOMBAT New Heroes.

With a record of 152 wins, of which 86 by KO, before the confrontation in Bucharest, Mike Zambidis confirmed the status of favorite and at the end of the three rounds, all judges informed him by unanimous decision a winner. “I’m very proud of the fact that I made happy again my Greek fellow countrymen. I had a hard fight against Harun Kina, maybe harder than I expected, but all that matters is the fact I won the belt.”, said Mike Zambidis at the end of the fight held by the greatest cinema hall from Romania with a VIP crowd.

In the co-main-event, the former football player Miodrag Olar (Romania) managed the surprise, winning at unanimous decision the confrontation at -81 kg’s division with much more experienced Alexandros Chatzichronoglou (Greece), and awarded victory to the number 25 of his career. And Cedric Manhoef (Suriname) has established himself at the end of a spectacular way in front of the Romanian Alexandru Popescu, who has been counted twice over confrontation.

“We had two successful events. It was like an exam for us, because they were organized in two consecutive days, but I’m glad that I was able to produce two events at a high level. And we also had two premieres. The official weigh-in, before the New Heroes event, has been organised at the ruins of Vlad “Dracula” Tepes’s royal court, and the VIP event in a cinema hall, where access was made only on the basis of invitations. In addition, we found a few new heroes, on who we are going to count in the future. Now, we are preparing for the season of autumn which will start on September 28th with SUPERKOMBAT World Grand Prix.”, commented the president of SUPERKOMBAT, Eduard Irimia.
