E3 2011 Attendance FiguresWhen June 9th Electronic Entertainment Expo came to a close, ESA estimated that the show was attended more highly than any other show in the past five years. 46,800 people attended the event, which brought in roughly $25 million in revenue. Though the crowds are growing, the exhibitors are strangely shrinking, with an average of 100 less exhibitors in 2011 than last year.

Nintendo's upcoming Wii U, which has been enjoying a lot of publicity at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, raised a lot of eyebrows when it was announced that a tablet, akin to an iPad or Kindle would be the console's primary controller. Now, according to Nintendo head of design Shigeru Miyatomo, there will most likely be only one Wii U tablet for each system, with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck motion-sensing controllers compatible to complement them.
