Lashley debuts on December 13th!

Source:

Earlier today Daniel reported the news that Bobby Lashley's December MMA debut was in jeopardy because the company he is signed to (American Fight League) announced it is ceasing operations until the first quarter of 2009.

Local radio ads running in Miami, Florida are now advertising Bobby Lashley will compete in his first official MMA bout on December 13th at an event promoted by Mixed Fight Alliance called "There Will Be Blood." The show will take place at the American Airlines Arena in Miami. No opponent has been announced yet.

Lashley signed a two-fight deal with an option for a third earlier this year, but like most of the other fighters under contract with the fledgling AFL promotion, he still has the freedom to fight in other organizations so long as it doesn’t interfere with any AFL obligations.

Lashley seems to be taking the slow road to MMA fame. Obviously, most will associate Lashley with Lesnar in that they are both former WWE employees, both big, both have last names that start with L, but that's where the similarities end.

Brock as we know, isn't the most reserved guy. He's got a lot of attitude. Lashley is the complete opposite. Really soft spoken, very very humble and an all around nice guy.

With Lashley's personality, his actions make sense. Brock is wide open and jumped right into the shark pit. Lashley is going to swim around a bit and get a feel for the waters before going to the deep end.

Lashley's abilities are right at equal to Brock's IMO. Explosive power, etc. However, with his personality, one could assume that his fighting STYLE will be different. I think Lashley will be more patient and fight smarter. The explosiveness will be there, just not right out the gate like Brock.

Hulk Hogan Comments On Vince McMahon/CCW Issues

Postby NWOWolfpack » Thu Dec 04, 2008 12:35 am

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, was one of the special guests on this week’s live edition of the "Monday Night Mayhem" Internet radio show, hosted by The Big Mosh & Blade. Here are some highlights of what Hulk said about

TNA's Main Event Mafia: Recently, Hulk said that he watched TNA iMPACT, seeing the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Sting, in his business suit & without his makeup, along with the other members of The Main Event Mafia. He has the feeling of this being like the nWO..."not when the nWo was hot, but when the nWo started losing steam, when these guys didn't wanna wrestle anymore, and all they wanted to do was talk." He was quite impressed with what he saw out of Samoa Joe & some of the TNA Knockouts, but despite that, he said that he "does not get/understand "the eight-sided ring." "They don't do anything different in that ring than you would do in an old ring." Mosh brought up the never-ending comparisons from fans around the world about The Main Event Mafia being compared to the nWO, and Blade mentioned to Hulk how the current TNA storyline with The MEM vs. The Frontline is more like "The Millionaire's Club" vs. "The New Blood" in World Championship Wrestling, with the main point being to get the younger guys over.

Vince's Beef with CCW: Hulk said that over the years, Vince has done whatever he could to protect the family business, and he totally understands that. However, he does not understand why World Wrestling Entertainment is coming down on Brutus, as he is simply trying to feed his family & put his kids through school. He credits the real life Ed Leslie for keeping the gimmick alive over the years, traveling from state-to-state & overseas, as Brutus has not really worked for the WWE in close to 15 years. He is also surprised at why the rain is coming down hard on Jimmy Hart, as Jimmy asked for the WWE's permission/blessing to appear on the show & has nothing but goodwill towards everyone, and despite that, this is the unfortunate end result. Hulk described the situation, in general, as "bottom-feeder stuff" & "weak," and that "what you throw out there will come back to you." He also wished to add that there is not as much negative energy coming from the CCW side of things, as there is from the WWE.

Kevin Nash Hospitalized In Bad Shape

Postby NWOWolfpack » Mon Jan 12, 2009 6:42 pm

TNA stated on the Genesis PPV that Kevin Nash had been admitted to the hospital for a staph infection from a match in Japan last week. The word backstage is that this is 100% real and he was hospitalized earlier in the day with a severe staph infection in his elbow and there is a strong fear he may have blood poisoning.

There are a number of people in TNA who are very worried about his condition right now.

After being released from the hospital last week following surgery to treat a severe staph infection in his right elbow, TNA star Kevin Nash returned home to Florida over the weekend. www.TNAWrestling.com says that Nash is "tentatively scheduled" for their next TV tapings in Orlando on January 26th and 27th.
